Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II for St. Josephs North Hospital in Lutz, FL. The role includes collecting and processing specimens, communicating with nursing staff, and referring tests to outside labs.

You will interact with physicians and staff and perform phlebotomy as needed. Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree in a related field acceptable in lieu of experience. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related experience or related field
• High School or equivalent required; or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience
• Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Status: Full Time and Part Time roles available
• Shift Hours: Days. Evenings and Night Shifts Available
• Weekend Work: Every Other

Responsibilities:

The Lab Medical Assistant II is responsible for:

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing

Experience:

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field

Education:

• Required High School or equivalent
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience

Credentials:

• Driver's License

Credential equivalent experience:

• Preferred Phlebotomy
