Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist for the BayCare Outpatient and Surgery facility in Largo, FL. The role involves collecting and processing inpatient and outpatient specimens, maintaining clear communication with nursing and physicians, and ensuring referrals to outside labs are executed efficiently.

This on-site position offers daytime hours (7:30 am – 4:00 pm), occasional weekend work, and no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• 6 months in phlebotomy and 6 months BayCare related experience.
• High School or equivalent explicitly required.
• ASPT/ASCP/AMT or related credentials (preferred).
• Florida driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Collect inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Credentials

• Driver's License in the State of Florida
• Required ASPT (Phlebotomy Technicians)
• Or ASCP
• Or AMT (Medical Technologists)
• Or Paramedic
• Or EMT (Emergency)
• Or Medical Technologist
• Or Medical Technologist Eligible to obtain
• Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in the State of Florida
• Or RN (Registered Nurse) in the State of Florida

Education

• Required High School or equivalent

Experience

• 6 months in phlebotomy and 6 months BayCare related -
