Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II to support the Outreach Lab. The role requires Pediatric and lab experience and offers full-time hours with a 7:00AM–3:30PM shift and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, coordinating with nursing staff, and performing phlebotomy under supervision. Education includes high school or related bachelor's, with a valid driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience required or related laboratory experience.
• Ability to handle inpatient and outpatient specimens.

• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures

• Location: Westchase, FL

• Status: FullTime

• Shift Hours: 7:00AM - 3:30PM

• Weekend Work: Occasional

• On Call: No

Responsibilities:

The Lab Medical Assistant II is responsible for:

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing

• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens

• Referring specimens to outside laboratories

• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests

• Performance of phlebotomy procedures

• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience:

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field

Education:

• Required High School or equivalent

• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience

Credentials:

• Driver's License

Credential equivalent experience:

• Preferred Phlebotomy
