Job summary

BayCare Health System's Winter Haven Hospital is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant I to join a busy clinical team. The role handles collecting and processing specimens for testing, communicates with nursing staff, and performs phlebotomy as needed.

The position is based in Winter Haven, FL with on-site duties, PRN and Full-Time options, and on-call responsibilities. A High School diploma is required; Phlebotomy experience preferred, along with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
