Job summary

BayCare Health System in Safety Harbor, FL seeks a Lab Medical Assistant II to collect, process, and manage specimens for testing in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role requires phlebotomy duties and coordination with nurses and physicians to ensure accurate referrals and timely results.

Preferred candidates have 6 months of phlebotomy or related lab experience, along with a High School diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree can substitute for experience. Driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field.
• Required High School or equivalent.
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
