Job summary

BayCare Health System in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II to collect, receive, and process specimens for testing in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role collaborates with nursing, physicians, and lab staff to ensure accurate referrals and test results.

Requires at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience, high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's in related field considered in lieu of experience). Valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field
• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's related field considered in lieu of experience
• Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
