Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Media Technician to support the media department and ensure quality testing processes. You will perform media preparation, set up quality controls, operate instrumentation, manage media inventory, and help maintain a clean, safe lab environment while adhering to ISO/IEC 17025 and company guidelines.

Candidates with HS Diploma and AS/BS in Microbiology or related fields are encouraged to apply; commuting distance to Des Moines is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• AS or BS in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Experience in plating, plate reading, and sample preparation.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands, and follows management system requirements to ensure ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC and government regulations.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Media preparation and inventory management.
• Set up quality controls and operate instrumentation (Autoclave, Masterclave, etc.).
• Identify process difficulties and report with proposed solutions to supervisor.
• Respond to client and staff inquiries and maintain cooperative relationships.
• Promote ethical business practices and continually improve service quality.
