Job summary

Qualifications

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Minimum three years of full-time nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the nursing on-campus lab, including lab setup and cleanup with faculty/student support.
  • Ensures lab is equipped and manikins are in working order.
  • Maintains a safe lab environment with documented safety processes.
  • Assists instructors with on-campus lab activities, evaluating students during skills checks and creating modules.
  • Researches and evaluates vendors and supply costs, and recommends best pricing.
  • Labels, records, and manages inventory of lab equipment and supplies.
  • Educates students and faculty on the nursing laboratory and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots daily issues with software, hardware, and manikin systems.
  • Supervises nursing students in on-campus labs.
  • Tutors referred students to enhance their lab skills.

The Lab Manager manages on-campus labs for practical nursing and associate degree of nursing programs.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the nursing on-campus lab, including lab set up and clean up, along with assistance from faculty and students
  • Ensures lab is equipped and manikins are in working order
  • Provides a safe lab environment, including developing safety processes and procedures
  • Assists faculty instructors with on-campus lab activities, including evaluating students during skills check-off, creating modules for use with the manikins or related activities, and providing lab instruction/activities for the clinical day in absence of the instructor
  • Researches and evaluates vendors and supply costs, and recommends best pricing
  • Labels, records, and manages the inventory of lab equipment and supplies
  • Educates students and faculty on the nursing laboratory, including manikins and related equipment
  • Troubleshoots daily problems, such as failure of software, hardware, and manikin dysfunction
  • Supervises practical and/or registered nurse students in on-campus labs
  • Tutors referred students in order to enhance their lab skills
Requirements
  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • At least three years full-time in the practice of nursing as a Registered Nurse or part-time equivalent
  • Active IN RN license that has never been encumbered
  • Current American Heart Association compliant Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
General Credentialing Requirements

Applicants selected and receiving an offer of employment will be required to complete key credentialing requirements for clinical placements prior to being cleared for start. Full detailed information is provided at time of offer. A summary of requirements includes:

  • Providing copies of official transcripts for all degrees earned
  • Providing a copy of current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS CPR card
  • Completion of a physical form (from within the last 12 months)
  • MMR
  • TDAP/Tetanus
  • TB (2 step)
  • FLU (October 1 – April 1 hires)
