Hondros College of Nursing in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Lab Manager to oversee on-campus nursing labs for practical nursing and the Associate Degree in Nursing programs. You will manage lab setup, safety procedures, inventory, and day-to-day operations with faculty and students.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
• At least three years full-time nursing practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or part-time equivalent.
• Active IN RN license that has never been encumbered.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages the nursing on-campus lab, including setup and cleanup with faculty and students.
• Ensures lab is equipped and manikins are in working order.
• Provides a safe lab environment, developing safety processes and procedures.
• Assists faculty with on-campus lab activities, evaluating student skills during check-offs and creating modules.
• Researches and evaluates vendors and supplies, and recommends best pricing.
• Labels, records and manages inventory of lab equipment and supplies.
• Educates students and faculty on the nursing laboratory and equipment.
• Troubleshoots daily lab issues including software, hardware and manikin dysfunction.
• Supervises nursing students in on-campus labs and tutors referred students.

The Lab Manager manages on-campus labs for practical nursing and associate degree of nursing programs.

Responsibilities

• Manages the nursing on-campus lab, including lab set up and clean up, along with assistance from faculty and students
• Ensures lab is equipped and manikins are in working order
• Provides a safe lab environment, including developing safety processes and procedures
• Assists faculty instructors with on-campus lab activities, including evaluating students during skills check-off, creating modules for use with the manikins or related activities, and providing lab instruction/activities for the clinical day in absence of the instructor
• Researches and evaluates vendors and supply costs, and recommends best pricing
• Labels, records, and manages the inventory of lab equipment and supplies
• Educates students and faculty on the nursing laboratory, including manikins and related equipment
• Troubleshoots daily problems, such as failure of software, hardware, and manikin dysfunction
• Supervises practical and/or registered nurse students in on-campus labs
• Tutors referred students in order to enhance their lab skills

Requirements

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
• At least three years full-time in the practice of nursing as a Registered Nurse or part-time equivalent
• Active IN RN license that has never been encumbered
• Current American Heart Association compliant Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

General Credentialing Requirements

Applicants selected and receiving an offer of employment will be required to complete key credentialing requirements for clinical placements prior to being cleared for start. Full detailed information is provided at time of offer. A summary of requirements includes:

• Providing copies of official transcripts for all degrees earned
• Providing a copy of current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS CPR card
• Completion of a physical form (from within the last 12 months)
• Immunization documentation for:

  • TB (2 step)
  • Varicella
  • FLU (October 1 - April 1 hires)
