Heirloom in Brisbane, CA is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee the lab team and operations focused on growing analytical capabilities for our Direct Air Capture program. You will supervise technicians and analysts, ensure safety, and drive data-driven decisions across the lab.

You will lead a fast-paced startup environment, contributing to R&D through routine analyses, instrument upgrades, and vendor management. A STEM degree and proven leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• 3+ years of experience managing a lab with multiple instruments.
• Experience managing direct reports and a laboratory data management system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the personnel and functions of the laboratory, ensuring high analytical throughput and organization of samples and supplies.
• Be hands-on in the lab while supervising laboratory technicians and research associates.
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams, perform routine analyses, support characterization studies, and manage external analytical vendor relationships.
