Job summary

TriHealth's Laboratory team is seeking a Lab Liaison Technician to support patients and customers through quality specimen collection, processing, and coordination. The role emphasizes collaboration, accurate labeling, and adherence to CLIA, Joint Commission, and CAP guidelines.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1–2 years hospital lab experience (preferred), and Phlebotomy training (preferred). Strong data entry and LIS/HIS familiarity are desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 1–2 years’ experience in hospital lab setting (Preferred).
• Formal Phlebotomy training preferred; Certified Phlebotomy Technician preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory terminology preferred.
• Specimen handling preferred.
• Data entry preferred.
• Windows software preferred.
• HIS and LIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Label, aliquot, package, and track specimens through the TriHealth Laboratory system.
• Dispatch specimens to the appropriate referral laboratory.
• Serve as key point of contact for customers; manage inbound/outbound communications.
• Assist with diagnostic laboratory services; collect information for service and billing.
• Complete paperwork per OIG guidelines, including interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry.
• Procure quality specimens from adult, geriatric, pediatric, and infant patients for diagnostic testing.
