Job summary

TriHealth seeks a Lab Technician Representative to support accurate specimen processing and efficient courier services, while assisting in staff development and delivering exceptional service to lab customers.

The role includes coordinating routine and emergency lab courier dispatch, training Outreach staff, and managing supplies and documentation across HIS/LIS systems. Evening shifts with weekend rotation are required at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory operations, terminology, and general laboratory workflow.
• Computer literacy and data entry skills.
• Ability to coordinate and train Outreach staff and couriers.
• Experience in a lab support role preferred but not required if qualified.

Responsibilities

• Sorts, receives, registers, orders, labels, and distributes incoming specimens using HIS, LIS, or other systems. Achieves zero mislabeling.
• Trains Outreach staff and directs daily workflow for the shift. Communicates with staff to resolve problems.
• Organizes pickup routes, supplies, and reports for lab couriers; dispatches couriers for routine and stat pickups.
• Orders supplies for customers and maintains storeroom inventory; monitors usage and replenishment.
• Coordinates distribution of policies and procedures; documents drills and mandatory education; supports performance reviews and special projects.
