RWJBarnabas Health is hiring an Inventory Management Assistant for the Lab & Pathology team at Jersey City Medical Center. The role supports supply inventory ordering, receipt, labeling, processing, storage, and distribution across multiple laboratory disciplines within Clinical Pathology.

Typical duties include on-site inventory management, unpacking shipments, verifying accuracy, counting stock, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of experience preferred in laboratory support or inventory management roles.
• Demonstrated competence in organizing, multi-tasking, and prioritizing high-volume supply workloads for timely operational completion.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and execute complex safety instructions and vendor specifications.
• Excellent computer skills with history navigating inventory databases, sorting automated logs, or tracking shipments.

Responsibilities

• Order supply and reagent inventory from vendors, track logistics, and secure accurate shipment arrival times.
• Provide onsite inventory management services, unpack shipments, verify packing slips, and stock shelves safely.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain detailed records for supervisors and leadership.
• Perform strict quality checks on stored inventory and discard expired or defective items.
• Identify discrepancies in inventory, investigate delays, and report issues to leadership.
• Maintain organized, safe storage areas and ensure proper chemical and reagent storage.
