Labcorp is seeking a Lab Intern to join our Birmingham, AL team for an immersive 11-week, full-time program. You will shadow professionals, learn diagnostic workflows, and support routine lab tasks in a dynamic setting.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and initiative while you develop skills in a real-world laboratory environment. Eligibility includes current enrollment in a related bachelor’s degree program.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology Bachelor’s degree program.
• Interest in laboratory science and diagnostics industry.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow laboratory procedures.
• Eager to learn new laboratory skills and scientific concepts.
• Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Maintain professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Shadow laboratory professionals and learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations
• Assist with non-testing laboratory tasks, such as specimen organization, inventory, and workspace preparation
• Participate in approved mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques under supervision
• Support approved laboratory projects
• Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures
