Job summary

Labcorp in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Lab Intern to join our Microbiology team for a hands-on learning experience. The internship runs 11 weeks, full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00am to 4:30pm, offering exposure to diagnostic workflows and laboratory operations under supervision.

This program is designed for students enrolled in relevant degree programs and aims to develop practical skills, attention to detail, and professional conduct within a regulated lab environment.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology Bachelor's degree program.
• Interest in laboratory science and diagnostics industry.
• Willingness to learn and follow laboratory procedures with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Shadow laboratory professionals and learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations.
• Assist with non-testing laboratory tasks, such as specimen organization, inventory, and workspace preparation.
• Participate in approved mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques under supervision.
• Support approved laboratory projects.
• Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures.
