Job summary

CBRE Laboratory Instrumentation Services (LIS) Technician needed to calibrate, maintain, and repair scientific instrumentation at a premier pharmaceutical client site. The role sits within the Critical and Technical Services function, focusing on technical maintenance in controlled environments.

Responsibilities include disassembly, calibration, troubleshooting, documentation, and coordinating with external contractors.

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in a scientific discipline, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience.
  • In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.
  • Meet the physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs or more and ability to climb stairs/ladders.
  • Able to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Intermediate math skills for percentages, fractions, and related calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and maintain equipment and controls.
  • Operate test equipment such as multimeters and calibration weights.
  • Coordinate equipment removal for extended repairs during maintenance periods.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems during unscheduled work.
  • Record and report abnormal conditions and take corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain daily records of inspections, maintenance, repairs and work performed.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs under maintenance agreements.
  • Manage parts inventories, source parts, and prepare requisitions.
  • Track reliability of instruments and parts; suggest supplier alternatives.
