Job summary

CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services Technician role in New Jersey involves calibrating, maintaining, and performing minor repairs on scientific instruments within Critical and Technical Services.

You will follow established procedures, document activities, and coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements. The position emphasizes accuracy and procedure adherence in a controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience; diploma alternatives considered.
• Must meet physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Basic math skills for simple calculations.

Responsibilities

• Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and take care of equipment, systems, and controls.
• Operate test equipment including multimeters and galvanometers.
• Coordinate removal of equipment needing basic repairs during scheduled maintenance periods.
• Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment.
• Responsible for locating part sources and estimating costs.
• Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs and other work performed.
• Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
• Assist with development of equipment, maintenance and calibration procedures.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems with limited discretion.
• Output delivered following defined procedures and processes under supervision.
