Job summary

CBRE Full Spectrum Lab Services seeks a Laboratory Instrument Services Technician to calibrate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on scientific instrumentation. You will work under supervision to follow procedures and support critical client environments.

Responsibilities include using test equipment, coordinating with contractors, and documenting maintenance activities. The role requires a high school diploma and basic math, with willingness to learn and follow established processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
  • Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.

Responsibilities

  • Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and take care of equipment, systems, and controls.
  • Operate test equipment, including multimeters and galvanometers.
  • Coordinate the removal of equipment needing basic repairs during scheduled maintenance periods.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment.
  • Responsible for locating part sources and estimating costs.
  • Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Assist with the development of equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems within defined guidance.
