OSI Engineering, Inc. in Menlo Park, CA, is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to maintain a safe, compliant laboratory environment for scientists and engineers. You will manage chemical inventory, hazardous waste, inspections, and safety programs.

This contract-to-hire role emphasizes hands-on safety operations, documentation, and collaboration with vendors and regulatory partners in a fast-paced research setting.

Qualifications

• 2–7 years of relevant EHS experience in labs or semiconductor environments.
• Experience with chemical inventory systems.
• Familiarity with TSDF regulatory requirements.
• Current HAZWOPER training (40-hour initial + 8-hour refresher).
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently with scientists, engineers, vendors, and regulators.

Responsabilités

• Manage receipt, tracking, labeling, storage, and organization of laboratory chemicals and compressed gases.
• Maintain accurate chemical inventory, SDS, hazard, and storage records in inventory systems.
• Support hazardous waste operations: collection, labeling, staging, container changes, storage, and disposal vendor coordination.
• Maintain waste accumulation areas and ensure proper handling of chemicals and waste.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and address EHS concerns; assist with corrective actions.
• Monitor safety equipment, PPE, spill-response materials, gas detection equipment, and EHS supplies.
• Assist with employee safety programs, including onboarding and required training.
