Job summary

Periodic Labs is seeking an EHS professional to work with the EHS Engineer, Facilities team, scientists, and technicians to execute EHS programs and maintain a safe, compliant, organized, and inspection-ready facility.

You will manage chemical inventory, hazardous waste, safety training, inspections, and regulatory documentation in a dynamic laboratory environment, ensuring adherence to safety standards and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in EHS, chemistry, environmental science, occupational health, or related field.
• Familiarity with laboratory chemical handling and hazardous waste management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to move containers and work safely in an active lab environment.
• Comfortable coordinating with scientists, engineers, vendors, and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, label, inventory, and properly store incoming chemicals and compressed gases.
• Maintain accurate chemical inventory, SDS, hazard classification, and storage-location records.
• Monitor inventories and reorder hazardous materials and PPE as needed.
• Collect, label, package, move, and stage hazardous waste and related materials.
• Manage satellite waste containers and assist with larger container handling.
• Coordinate hazardous waste pickups and maintain disposal documentation.
• Perform routine laboratory safety inspections and document corrective actions.
• Inspect and maintain spill kits, eyewash stations, safety showers, and PPE stations.
• Coordinate EHS onboarding, safety training, and regulatory evaluations.
• Support regulatory inspections and prepare related records.
