Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a full-time courier responsible for delivering laboratory specimens, mail, and supplies between MercyOne facilities and laboratory customers. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, adherence to infection control, and safe handling of chemicals.

Responsibilities include tracking packages with courier software, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, following policies, and participating in department huddles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Two years’ courier experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required and must meet MV safety standards.
• Knowledge of materials management preferred.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports laboratory specimens, mail and other materials and/or supplies utilizing excellent customer service skills.
• Follows established procedures and policies including infection control and bloodborne pathogens.
• Handles chemicals according to established safety protocols.
• Meets defined workload productivity standards.
• Supports and utilizes LEAN principles.
• Utilizes courier logistical software and devices to track packages and document route.
• Ensures temperature dependent materials are transported at their required storage temperature.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and courier bags.
• Attends and participates in department huddles.
• Follows established policies and procedures to accurately track packages and obtain optimal transport time.
• Participates in teaching peers.
