Job summary

ASML in Wilton, CT seeks a Competence Engineer to support product development through hands-on build, prototyping, testing, and diagnostics of electrical and mechanical systems. You will maintain and operate lab equipment, calibrations, and safety processes while coordinating with development labs and customers.

The role emphasizes lab ownership, scheduling, and process improvements in a 5S environment, with daily onsite responsibilities and strong teamwork across engineering functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Experience in lab environments and lab readiness is preferred.
• Analytical troubleshooting approach and problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Excel and SharePoint tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more ASML D&E laboratories and manage lab space requests.
• Maintain proactive lab communications and scheduling with customers.
• Train and supervise users on communal lab equipment usage.
• Set up and operate test equipment, collect data and analyze results.
• Champion 5S and lab safety practices and maintain calibration status.
