Job summary

ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Lab Client Support Technician provides technical and preanalytic support for a designated division, communicating specimen details to clients and ensuring proper handling and transport.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, triaging as needed, supporting customers, and maintaining LIS proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or higher in Biology or related field preferred.
• Must complete department-specific training and competency within 6 months.
• General medical laboratory experience preferred.
• Call center experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens according to procedures, including triaging and routing.
• Communicate specimen information to clients and laboratories.
• Maintain proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Provide education, guidance, and troubleshooting to customers regarding resources and testing.
• Maintain work area and comply with safety and sanitation procedures.
