Job summary

ARUP Laboratories, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking individuals for its Specimen Processing training program. The role supports ARUP's central facility and University Hospital Clinical Lab by ensuring proper handling of all specimens.

During training, you'll learn manual and automated processing, enter demographics, and ensure tests are ordered and labeled correctly. Shifts include a 30 hours/week schedule with Monday, Wednesday, Friday hours and a Saturday shift.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to processing procedures.
• Attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow the Specimen Processing Manual and Safety Manual.
• Attend Specimen Processing team and staff meetings.
• Process specimens promptly after training.
• Enter patient demographics and manage orders in applications.
• Order tests indicated on requisitions.
• Label and handle specimens and paperwork properly.
