Job summary

ARUP Laboratories is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Processing Specialist I for Salt Lake City. The role involves specimen accessioning, data entry, and routine LIS tasks in a Pediatric/clinical setting. Part-time position with on-site responsibilities.

Responsibilities include handling various specimen types, adhering to safety and QC procedures, and supporting team communications to ensure timely pathology services. Training and ongoing competency assessments are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in specimen processing and/or pathology.
• Preferred: familiarity with ARUP/UUHSC software like Millennium, ESP, ANSR, IMS, Epic/Beaker.

Responsibilities

• Supports pathology services by receiving, accessioning, and tracking specimens.
• Performs routine handling of ambient, refrigerated, and frozen specimens.
• Operates LIS and related systems to document processing steps and QC data.
• Triages and accession surgical specimens following established procedures.
• Maintains clean, organized work areas and adheres to safety policies.
• Assists with QA data collection and annual competency testing as directed.
