Job summary

ARUP Laboratories, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a Lab Client Support Technician to provide technical and preanalytic support for a division of technical operations and clients. You will contact clients with specimen information and troubleshoot, while supporting LIS systems and ensuring excellent service.

The role emphasizes building strong customer relationships, maintaining compliance with HIPAA, and collaborating with laboratories across ARUP.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; must complete and demonstrate department training within 6 months.
General medical laboratory experience preferred.
Call center experience, 35 WPM typing, LIS familiarity, and HIPAA training are desirable.]

Responsibilities

Understands appropriate collection, handling, and transportation of specimens.
Accurately processes specimens according to procedures; may include triage, routing, and storage.
Evaluates specimens for acceptability and initiates problem resolution.
Processes requests for add-on testing.
Develops proficiency with LIS including ANSR, ESP, IMS, Millennium, MasterControl, LMS, CRM, and eExcept.
Receives and initiates calls to/from customers and laboratories; may provide verified test results to authenticated individuals.
Provides education, guidance, and troubleshooting to customers about resources, testing, and application utility.
Maintains competency on pre-analytic equipment and department support.
Maintains work area and documents cleaning and maintenance.
Serves as a liaison between technical sections and customers.
Builds and maintains customer relationships and documents communications and follow-up.
