Job summary

ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks a Lab Client Support Technician to provide technical and preanalytic support for a designated division. You will contact clients with specimen information, assist with test clarification, and serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities include processing specimens per procedures, resolving issues, handling add-on test requests, and educating customers on resources and testing.

Qualifications

• Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Ability to interpret specimen instructions and test orders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing specimens.

Responsibilities

• Understand proper collection, handling, and transport of specimens.
• Process specimens per established departmental procedures; may triage, route, and store.
• Evaluate specimens for acceptability and initiate problem resolution.
• Process requests for add-on testing.
• Develop proficiency with LIS systems including ANSR, ESP, IMS, Millennium, MasterControl, LMS, CRM, and eExcept.
• Receive and initiate telephone calls to/from customers and laboratories in a timely, courteous manner.
• Provide education, guidance, and troubleshooting to customers regarding resources and testing.
• Maintain competency on pre-analytic equipment and department support.
• Maintain workspace and document cleaning and maintenance.
• Serve as a liaison between technical sections and customers.
• Build and maintain customer relationships through all communications.
• Document customer communications, resolutions, issues, and follow-up.
• Other duties as defined.
