Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a motivated phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Outreach Service team. You will perform blood collection, urine collection, and related specimen handling, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care.

The role requires familiarity with medical terminology and basic computer skills. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 months of customer service experience and phlebotomy training, plus a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and a current BLS

Qualifications

• Requires 3 months customer service experience.
• Requires experience as a phlebotomist; phlebotomy experience may substitute for customer service experience.
• Phlebotomy certification must include a minimum of 32 hours of clinical rotation.
• Valid Oklahoma Driver’s license with <3 points; MVR must meet policy or defensive driving.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required during orientation and maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs admission interview process at outreach centers or uses client information at collection/pickup.
• Ensures Medicare, insurance and managed care requirements are met prior to registration.
• Responds to inquiries regarding patients.
• Obtains blood specimens (on/off site) following procedures and safety rules.
• Conducts urine collection and other specimen collections as needed.
• Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms and INR QC/testing.
• Assists in the laboratory area and serves as a resource for lab information.
