Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to join our fast-paced, team-oriented laboratory. The role includes patient interviews, specimen collection, and coordinating with outreach centers to ensure proper insurance requirements are met.

You will perform ECGs, urine collection, and assist in laboratory operations. The position requires phlebotomy experience or a clinical certificate, strong medical terminology knowledge, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Three months of customer service experience.
• Phlebotomy experience or certificate may substitute for customer service.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology and be proficient with basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Perform admission interview processes and handle information from outreach clients at collection sites.
• Ensure Medicare, insurance, and managed care requirements are met prior to registration.
• Respond to patient inquiries and maintain knowledge of insurance regulations.
• Collect blood specimens on-site or off-site following procedures and timelines.
• Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms for outpatients and INR QC/testing.
• Handle urine collection and processing; assist in laboratory operations.
• Serve as a resource for laboratory information and maintain supply levels.
