Job summary

Labcorp in Houston, TX is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team on 1st Shift, Sunday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm with overtime as needed.

You will receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare them for testing, perform data entry, and ensure all equipment works properly while following SOPs to maintain safety and quality standards.

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic computer skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and data entry ability.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
