Job summary

Labcorp in Houston, TX is seeking a Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, monitor instruments, and report accurate results to support quality patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a chemical/biological science or medical technology, 2+ years of lab experience, and ASCP or AMT certification; preferred Labcorp experience and strong teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 2+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Current or prior Labcorp experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
