Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Pre-Analytical Assistant I for our Houston, TX facility. The role supports the Technical Operations Department with specimen handling, data entry, and process documentation, primarily Monday to Friday early shifts.

Responsibilities include learning job duties, resolving specimen issues, ensuring compliance with test ordering, and maintaining timely, accurate records. Opportunities exist for growth within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Basic data entry skills are preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn duties in Pre-Analytical Assistant I and understand Tech Ops and Specimen Processing interactions.
• Identify problems with specimens and assist in timely resolution.
• Understand test ordering compliance and translation tables.
• Meet quality and production standards within 6 months of training.
• Complete required documentation legibly and on time.
• Report to work on time and support department in coworker absences.
• Learn additional functions to progress to the next level.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
