Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is looking for a phlebotomy professional to join our team. You will perform venipunctures, process samples, and assist with screening and monitoring tests in a regulated clinical lab environment.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED; no prior experience is required, and no licensure is mandated by law. Prior phlebotomy certs and basic lab knowledge are preferred.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA ?88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: None

Additional Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy is preferred.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs is preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
