CommonSpirit Health in Bryan, TX seeks a Lab Assistant to support diagnostic processes by accurately collecting, preparing, and processing specimens (blood, urine, tissue) for testing. You will work with our modern lab equipment, uphold patient safety, and contribute to timely results in a collaborative team environment.

Key qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, CPR/BLS within 90 days, and preferred phlebotomy or lab assistant credentials.

• CPR/BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.
• High School diploma or GED required; phlebotomy or lab assistant credentials preferred.

• Practices positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions.
• Establishes and maintains good communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
• Takes responsibility for the department workflow, assists all members of the team to maintain department workflow and efficiency.
• Processes specimen into the lab, organized for department distribution.
• Moves processed samples quickly to laboratory departments for testing.
• Handles Laboratory Send-out testing, including processing, packing lists and packaging for testing sent to external laboratories.
