Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is looking for a Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant to join our team. Full-time and part-time schedules available on all shifts. You will perform sample processing, exempt screening, and monitor tests in line with CMS (CLIA '88) and Piedmont standards, and handle venipunctures and specimen preparation.

Education requires a high school diploma or GED. No experience is required, but 1 year as a phlebotomist and EKG experience are preferred; related healthcare or clinical laboratory

• No experience required; 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• EKG experience preferred; healthcare/clinical lab experience preferred.

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS/CLIA and Piedmont standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens according to Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
