Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform sample collection, venipunctures, and preliminary processing in accordance with CMS, CLIA, OSHA. You will support the clinical lab and assist technical staff where appropriate.

Education requires a high school diploma or GED; no experience required, though 1 year of phlebotomy or EKG experience preferred; CPT phlebotomy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: No experience required; 1 year preferred; healthcare/clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens following Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
