Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Georgia is seeking a phlebotomy technician to join our team. You will perform sample collection, venipuncture, and basic specimen handling in line with CMS/CLIA standards; you may assist technical staff and support clinical operations in a busy laboratory setting.

Education required is a GED; no prior experience is required, though one year of phlebotomy or EKG work is preferred and CPT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• No experience required; 1 year of phlebotomy or EKG experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample collection and venipuncture; prepares and processes specimens according to CMS/CLIA standards; assists technical staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred


• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred


• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred
