Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Six (6) months of prior experience as a lab assistant.
• Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, accession, processes, and transports specimens.
• Prepares and processes bone marrow specimens when needed.
• Supports technologists by loading instruments, preparing reagents, thawing, pooling, and stocking.
• Keeps staff informed of instrument problems and resolutions.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment with QA and safety checks.
• Performs culture setup and gram stain in Microbiology when staffed.
• Performs phlebotomy to ensure timely processing.
• Provides lab customer service and assists with add-ons and result inquiries.
• Performs clerical duties and maintains supplies.
• Keeps work area safe and organized.
