Qualifications

• Six months of prior experience as a lab assistant.
• Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory information systems.
• Ability to relate and communicate with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
• Assist in preparation and processing of bone marrow specimens.
• Provide support functions to technologists including instrument maintenance, reagents handling, and quality checks.
• Keeps informed of instrument problems and resolutions.
• Performs phlebotomy to ensure accurate and timely processing of lab orders.
• Provides laboratory customer service and handles clerical duties.
