Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Lewisville, TX seeks a Lab Assistant II to support the Special Chemistry department. The role runs Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with an initial training period Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The pay starts at $17.20 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include specimen handling, pre-analytical prep, data entry in LIS, and QA/QC duties.

• One year of full-time experience in a technical or clinical laboratory.
• Able to stand and perform at the bench for long periods.
• Able to lift and carry objects as described in the physical requirements.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Mansioni

• Perform specimen receiving, labeling, handling and preparation.
• Assist with pre-analytical preparation of specimens (printing labels, uncapping/capping tubes, aliquoting, racks, worklists).
• Record digital temperature and notify licensed personnel if out of range.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance on some equipment.
• Assist in preparing chemicals, reagents and solutions.
• Clean, organize and maintain work area, glassware and equipment.
• Monitor department pending/overdue lists and file documentation.
• Perform other tasks such as filing, archiving, and answering the telephone.
• Dispose of biohazardous material.
• Enter data in LIS.
• Perform QA/QC duties.
• Complete training and competency checklists and comply with safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
