Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant to prepare specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders in hospital information systems.

The role involves pre-analytical and analytical tasks within CLIA guidelines, ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely processing. The position includes supporting technologists, maintaining instruments, and handling specimen logistics while adhering to laboratory policies and infection-control standards at our North Charleston

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders.
• Performs waived and limited moderately complex testing per CLIA.
• Supports technologists: loading instruments, preparing reagents, and quality checks.
• Maintains instrument functionality and safety checks.
• Registers, insurance info, triages, and processes specimens for testing.
