Job summary

Labcorp is hiring a Lab Assistant for our Spokane, WA location. You will receive and sort clinical lab specimens and prepare them for testing, while ensuring accurate data entry and adherence to SOPs.

Typical duties include instrument maintenance, trouble-shooting specimen issues, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry or related science preferred.
• 6 months or more hospital or lab specimen processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and replenish test bench supplies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and complete logs as requested.
• Follow all SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.

PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Spokane, WA.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm overtime and additional days or hours may be required

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issuesReplenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry or a related science
• 6 months or more hospital or lab specimen processing
• 6 Months or more in a clinical or research laboratory

Additional Job Standards:

• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Pay Range:

$18.15 to 25.32 Plus 2nd Shift Differential

• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
