Job summary

Labcorp in Seattle, WA seeks a Lab Assistant to join the Cherry Hill Inpatient Laboratory team. The role involves receiving and sorting specimens, preparing samples, data entry, equipment checks, and maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a pay range of $21.30–$31.71 per hour. Benefits are provided for full-time or part-time staff, including health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6 months of experience in the healthcare industry or similar setting (optional).
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies and maintain a clean work area.
• Complete record logs and other admin duties as requested.
• Follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.

Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 6am-2:30pm

Pay Range: $21.30 - $31.71 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21.

Benefits: Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), accrue up to 18 days of Annual Leave per year (includes 8 holidays) and Sick Leave (0.0333) hours of sick leave for each hour of work) capped at 64 hours per year, Tuition Reimbursement and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 6 months of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment

• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
