Job summary

NEOMED is seeking a Lab Assistant to join the MEDIC program within the Office of Graduate Education in a full-time role. The position involves managing lab operations, assisting students with training on tools and equipment, and maintaining 3D printers, the machine shop, and testing equipment.

Summary

Responsibilities include managing lab operations, and supporting faculty and students that utilize the MEDIC (Medical Device Innovation Center).

Principal Functional Responsibilities

• Inventory control of tools and supplies, including ordering replacements as needed.
• Assist students with training and operation of tools and lab equipment.
• Maintenance and operations of 3D printers, machine shop, and testing equipment.
• Maintenance of equipment service and operations logs
• Consult with faculty and other senior laboratory staff on projects
• Other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• At least one year experience in a research environment
  

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to utilize applicable laboratory equipment necessary for the job, as well as a phone, computer and other office equipment.

Starting Pay Rate Range: $15.38 – $17.94, commensurate with experience
