Job summary

Labcorp in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Lab Assistant to join the Chemistry Department. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing samples for testing, data entry, and maintaining equipment and a clean work environment.

Monday–Friday night shift 11:00 PM–7:30 AM. You will follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality, assist with basic instrumentation, and help keep turnaround times on track in a fast-paced production setting.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry
• 6 months more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
• High School Diploma or GED is required

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Overland Park, KS in the Chemistry Department.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 11pm-7:30am

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 6 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 6 months more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
