Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Animal Care Technician to provide daily husbandry and maintenance for research animals, ensuring health, cleanliness, and compliance with AAALAC guidelines. The role reports to the Supervisor of the Animal Research Facility.

The position involves handling equipment, monitoring environmental conditions, and maintaining accurate logs. Strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certificate 1 preferred: Asst Laboratory Animal Tech.
• Certificate 2 preferred: Laboratory Animal Technician.
• 1–3 years related work experience required.

Responsabilidades

• Provides daily husbandry care to research animals according to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Provides clean sanitized caging material, fresh food, water and enrichment as scheduled.
• Monitors animal health and well-being; reports illnesses to Supervisor.
• Completes required reporting documents and cage notification cards.
• Operates safety cabinets, animal transfer stations, chemical foamers and specialized racks (if applicable).
• Houses arriving animal colonies per SOPs; ensures orders match logs and cage cards.
• Monitors room temperature and humidity; records data in room logs; reports deviations.
