Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking an Animal Care Technician I to work at our client's La Jolla, California facility. You will observe, monitor and document the health and environment of research animals and perform routine husbandry tasks to maintain a safe, compliant setting.

Responsibilities include cage cleaning, feeding and watering, assisting with euthanasia under veterinary guidance, and maintaining QA records.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D).
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in animal or life sciences; ALAT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor, and document health and environment of laboratory animals.
• Perform routine husbandry tasks: feeding, watering, cage changing, cleaning.
• Maintain QA documentation and assist with euthanasia under veterinary guidance.
