Job summary

On Location is seeking a Director for Greater LA area venue operations & transportation for the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Lead cross-functional hospitality operations across venues and off-venue sites to ensure seamless delivery for clients, partners, and stakeholders.

The role requires 10+ years in large-scale events, strong leadership and LA-area knowledge, and the ability to manage complex operations under pressure. Full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in large-scale event operations or hospitality management.
• Demonstrated success delivering high-touch, high-complexity hospitality programmes under intense operational pressure.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and operational reporting tools.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior executives, external partners, and large operational teams.
• Right to live and work in the USA, specifically in the Los Angeles host city market.
• Ability to commit to a full time role.
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• Prior experience supporting Olympic Games or mega-scale international events.
• Familiarity with Olympic operational structures, venue operations, and accreditation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of the Los Angeles sports, entertainment, and hospitality landscape.
• Existing relationships with LA-based vendors, venues, and workforce partners strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Advance Venue Team planning, deployment, and execution for LA28 competition venues in the Greater LA outlying area.
• Drive development and implementation of integrated operational plans aligning venue operations, hospitality delivery and transportation requirements.
• Serve as a central coordination point to ensure last mile functions are aligned and ready for Games-time conditions.
• Build and maintain strong operational partnerships with LA28 functional teams for venue operations and security.
• Collaborate with Platinum Groups, Packages, Services, Stakeholder and front-of-house leads to align requirements for hospitality products.
• Provide health, safety and security leadership for On Location staff, guests, and partners across venues and off-venue locations.
• Support on-site security planning, access control, credentialing, emergency procedures, and incident escalation frameworks.
• Ensure onboarding materials and procedures reflect health and safety standards and Games-time operations.
• Partner with Security and Workforce teams for on-site training and preparedness.
