Job summary

Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles is hiring temporary, part-time Event Staff for a six-month fixed-term position supporting performances and classes. You will report to the Venue Manager and work with the Shift Lead on scheduled shifts, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and safe experience for patrons, students, and performers.

Ideal candidates have experience in a live venue or box office, strong guest relations, and flexibility to work Saturdays, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous performing arts box office experience.
• Excellent guest relations and phone etiquette.
• Ability to work flexible days, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong attention to detail in fast-paced, high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Shift Lead and help ensure a high-quality customer and patron experience.
• Welcome patrons and provide friendly, helpful service before, during, and after performances.
• Process ticket sales using a computerized ticketing system.
• Process concessions transactions using a computerized point-of-sale system.
• Provide general information about events, classes, performances, and venue operations.
• Manage patron lines outside the venue and help maintain an orderly, positive arrival experience.
• Assist with the safe and efficient seating, exiting, and overall flow of audiences before and after performances.
• Maintain the appearance of the lobby and other public-facing areas.
• Complete nightly cleaning and closing duties for the lobby, public areas, and concessions spaces.
• Support venue operations as needed to help ensure performances and classes run smoothly.
