Job summary

Security Services Northwest, Inc. is hiring for an Armed/Unarmed Flex Guard in La Grande, OR. The role requires a current Oregon security license, a clean criminal and driving record, and a valid driver’s license.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of security or related experience and may have EMT background. On-call availability and willingness to work non-traditional hours are required. Salary ranges from $24.00 to $30.00 per hour, with health, vision, and EAP benefits, plus PTO and overtime

Qualifications

• Current Oregon State Unarmed Security Guard License is required.
• Clean criminal record and driving record are mandatory.
• Must possess a VALID driver's license and be able to operate motor vehicles if needed.
• 2–4 years of combined experience in Military or Law Enforcement is preferred.
• EMT background is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
• Monitor activities and enforce access control.
• Provide safety escorts and assist customers, employees, and visitors according to procedures.
• Record daily activity with DAR; coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents
• Monitor activities
• Access Control
• Safety escorts
• Using provided communication devices
• Represent SSNW’s brand
• Properly wear the issued uniform
• Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR)
• Work with local law enforcement, and emergency services.
• Provide friendly assistance to customers, employees and visitors following the department's procedures.
• Other duties as described in the Post Orders

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Current Oregon State Unarmed Security Guard License
• Must have a clean criminal record and driving record
• Must have a VALID driver's license
• 2-4 years of combined experience (Military, Law Enforcement)
• EMT Background a huge plus
• Smart phone to access the apps we use for scheduling, clocking in/out, and reporting
• Availability to work any shift (days, swings, graveyard)
• Must be ok with working on- call
• Reliable transportation
• Honesty and Integrity
• Able to work non-traditional hours including swings, graveyard, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to react appropriately in high stress situations

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Knowledge of security protocols, and equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to conduct regular walking foot patrols
• Able to stand 8-12 hours a day
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (occasionally)
